About Us
Soltau : We are a small and devoted kennel, established in 1985,
going about breeding and enjoying German Shepherd Dogs
as family pets, companions, and for showing, obedience and working as service dogs.
Where to find Soltau : We are at Lorne Lodge, a 38-acre historical country property,
located at Puha near Te Karaka, 22 miles north of Gisborne, in New Zealand.
 


Soltau Country : Where our German Shepherd Dogs are at home.
Lorne Lodge : Lorne homestead was built in the early 1900’s for the Hon. MP W D S MacDonald, the estate then comprising of 3962 acres. Lorne contains many fine old oak, chestnut, maple and huge poplar trees, also the largest yew tree in the district. An approx. 6 acres is in native bush and home to native birds such as Fantails, Tuis, Wood Pigeons and Moreporks. We also have free-range Pheasants, Turkeys, rare Chickens and Guinea Fowl. Running Hereford cattle and KuneKune (native pet pigs) amongst the remaining pasture and 10 acres of Radiata Pine trees.
